Google uses several methods to track users through their journey with your site and eventually purchasing products that are surfaced in advertisements. Clariti works best with the device-based reporting settings recommended in this article.

It's possible that your ad network partner may require different settings from what we are recommending. Most of us in the industry are waiting to see how the various GA4 settings affect our customers, and if all of our recommendations line up.

Device-based identity means that a lot of the complexity that Google uses to track users is simplified, which makes it easier for Clariti to track your data. There are many ways to model users. You can find out more information explaining the various identification methods in this Google support article, [GA4] Reporting identity.

If our guidance doesn't line up with your ad network partner's recommendations please reach out to [email protected] to see if we can figure out a workaround.
