If you are trying to connect your Google Analytics 4 (GA4) property in Clariti and see the below alert, you may be wondering what data thresholds are and how to configure your settings to allow your google data to fully sync in Clariti.

What are “data thresholds”?

According to Google, thresholding means that data is withheld when a feature called “Google signals” is enabled and you have a low user count in the specified date range. Data thresholds are applied to prevent anyone viewing the data from inferring the identity of individual users based on demographics, interests, or other signals present in the data. You can read more about when data thresholds are applied in this Google Help Center article.

How do data thresholds affect my experience in Clariti?

If your GA4 property has “Google signals” enabled, there is a possibility that some of your analytics data will be sent to us with thresholds applied. Clariti currently alerts you on your Settings page if your GA4 property is subject to data thresholds. To connect your GA4 property in Clariti, we recommend the following steps.

How to configure GA4 Reporting Identity settings to remove data thresholds

  1. In your GA4 property, click on Admin button at the bottom left (gear icon)

  2. On the Admin dashboard, under the property column, click “Reporting Identity”

3. In the list of options to identify users, click “show all”

4. Select the option for “Device-based” and click Save.
