Before you start
You'll need three things:
MCP access on your Clariti account. The Clariti MCP is rolling out gradually, and only accounts that have been granted access can connect. Having the MCP URL alone won't work. If your account hasn't been enabled yet, the authorization step below won't complete. You can request access by joining the waitlist at clariti.com/mcp.
A ChatGPT account. Custom plugins require Developer mode; availability can depend on the ChatGPT plan you're on.
The Clariti MCP URL:
https://app.clariti.com/mcp
Step 1: Turn on Developer mode
Open Settings (bottom left avatar) → Security and login. Toggle on "Developer mode" to allow custom plugins to be added to your account.
ChatGPT labels Developer mode "elevated risk" because it allows any unverified connector. The Clariti MCP only reads your site and analytics data, and only after you authorize it in Step 4.
Step 2: Open the plugin form
In the left sidebar, click Plugins. At the top right of the page, click the "+" to add a new plugin.
Step 3: Add the Clariti URL
In the New Plugin form:
Name: Clariti
Connection: Server URL, set to
https://app.clariti.com/mcpAuthentication: leave on OAuth
Check the confirmation box and click "Create."
Step 4: Authorize access
ChatGPT will send you to a Clariti authorization screen. Sign in with your Clariti account and click "Authorize" to let ChatGPT read your site and analytics data.
Make sure you're signed in as the Clariti account that was granted MCP access. The email is shown at the bottom of the authorization screen, and you can switch with "Sign in as a different user."
Step 5: You're connected
Clariti's data tools are now available inside ChatGPT, ready to answer questions.
Try it out
Start a new chat and ask something like:
"What are my top 5 pages in the last 30 days?"
If ChatGPT doesn't reach for your Clariti data on its own, name Clariti in the prompt ("Using Clariti, …").
Troubleshooting
The authorization step fails or never completes. This usually means your account doesn't have MCP access enabled yet. Join the waitlist at clariti.com/mcp. We'll email you when your account is enabled.
You can't add a plugin. Check that Developer mode is toggled on (Step 1) and that your ChatGPT plan supports it.
You authorized, but answers don't use your site data. Check that Clariti shows as Connected on the Plugins page, and name Clariti directly in your prompt.
